Houndapitt Farm is superbly placed in the countryside, only a mile from Sandymouth beach which is owned and operated by the National Trust. If you are a member, make sure to bring your membership card to ensure free parking. A large portion of the surrounding area of Houndapitt is officially designated an AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty).

Many fantastic attractions that will keep you entertained during your holiday include:

  • Beaches - We offer a superb location to enjoy some of the best beaches in the country, with some of the best Surfing to boot. We are only a mile from Sandymouth Bay (a renowned "secret" surf spot) and 4 miles from the sandy beaches of Bude.
  • Lifeguard FlagFishing - We have our very own, on-site coarse fishing lakes and if that's not enough, there are various other excellent places to fish in the region, so don't forget to bring your rod!
  • Walking - We have many seaside and countryside walks nearby and we are only a mile from the South West Coastal path.
  • Cycling - This is yet another enjoyable way to explore the local area with many fantastic cycle trails nearby. Cycle to Bideford or along the Bude canal or set out for the famous Camel Trail at Wadebridge for a great ride to Padstow.
  • Golf - There are several nearby courses, including the Bude and Ivyleaf golf courses.
  • Horse Riding - no matter what your ability, our friendly local stables will ensure you have a fantastic day in the saddle.
  • Public FootpathWildlife and Bird Watching - from our resident snowy owl, "Hedwig" to the hawks, buzzards and peregrine falcons who swoop around the eaves, Houndapitt is a great place to see some wildlife, not to mention the occasional sightings of deer and foxes!
  • Photography - we are perfectly placed for setting up your equipment and capturing some amazing images; the land, sea and skies are constantly changing, and the quality of the lighting is as effective as that in any other region of the country.
